Hey guys, thank you for giving a great response to our blog. I am getting a lot of questions, “Why did you choose Megh as the initials for your blog?” There is a long story behind it.
July 2009 (Hyderabad)
It was my first visit along with my mother to the city of Nizam shahi culture. Actually, Bhai (Brother) was posted in Hyderabad those days. We stayed in the guest house booked by my brother. One of my brother’s colleague along with his family (his parents and younger sister) also stayed with us in adjacent room. They were also there for the same reason of exploring Hyderabad.
A memorable day
It was drizzling that day and a perfect weather to go out for a picnic. We (mom, bro and of course I) decided to go for a city tour. My brother’s colleague’s family also joined us. So we booked an SUV for exploring Hyderabad for the whole day.
We started our tour with Salar Jung Museum followed by Golakonda Fort and snow world. Actually, the story started in snow world where we were taking amazing rides in the nerve chilling environment. The younger sister of my brother’s colleague was a bit concerned about her mother as she was very much uncomfortable in icy cool atmosphere. I helped her to take her mother outside. It was the time when she asked my name and in reply, I also asked hers. We felt little connected and gave each other a smile. We came back to the guest house in the night after having a tiring day. Next day we (I and mom) had a return ticket to Delhi. In the morning, the two families met again for breakfast and to say good bye to each other. We got to know that they were living in Lucknow. I was pursuing my graduation from Kanpur (It is a 2 hours journey to Lucknow from Kanpur). So, my mother insisted both of us to exchange numbers as it could be helpful in the hour of need. Also, she was very much concerned about me as it was the first time I was away from my home in my entire life. She gave me her number very casually and I confirmed mine with an SMS.
Next day I along with my mother boarded Rajdhani Express from Secunderabad station. After having lunch in the noon, my Nokia capacitive touch screen phone, gifted by my brother, vibrated. I checked the message. It was she asking for “How is your journey going on?” And after that, we exchanged uncountable messages while my mom fell asleep on her side lower berth. I felt like I was missing her. I was dreaming that it would have been great if I were in Hyderabad for one more day.
A stormy night
Now, I was in Kanpur. We didn’t message each other for more than a month. But one stormy night just changed my life. I was studying in the night using a lamp as there was no electricity. And my phone blinked. I said to myself, “Who on earth is messaging me at this time?”. It was She again. I don’t know what happened to me after that message, but my heart was pumping pounds of blood in each stream. I was shivering while replying to her message. And then she asked me the most heart touching question: “Can I call you Megh (clouds) from now onwards?”. What could I have replied, any guesses?
Ahh, I forgot to tell you her name. Her name is “Varsha (Rain)”.
In addition to all I said, what will surprise you even more is when I was born, Pandit Ji denominated me as “Megh”. (Next Post)
